So, last night I did Kuih Talam Cendol- jangan pengsan tengok warnanya k! This is my 1st time using this colour. Kalau sesaper nak cuba, silakan!
TALAM CENDOL
Bahan Lapisan Bawah
600 ml santan cair (saya gunakan 300ml santan kotak + 300 ml air)
100 tepung beras
1 sudu makan tepung jagung
1 sudu makan tepung Hoon Kwee
2 sudu makan gula
1 sudu teh garam
80 gm jagung biji dalam tin (whole kernel corn)
80 gm kacang merah /red kidney bean- rebus hingga empuk atau beli yg dlm tin jer
80 gm cendol
Cara:
Gaul rata kesemua bahan di atas lalu ditapis ke dalam periuk. Masak dgn api perlahan sehingga adunan pekat. Adunan hendaklah sentiasa dikacau agar tidak bergentel-gentel. Masukkan jagung, kacang merah dan cendol lalu kacau sebentar. Matikan api dan bubuh dalam loyang yg telah disapu sedikit minyak. Ratakan. Kukus hingga masak (kira2 10-15 minit). Sesudah itu, tuang adunan lapisan atas ke atas permukaan lapisan bawah tadi. Kukus hingga masak (kira-kira 15-20 minit)
Bahan Lapisan Atas
450 ml santan pekat
4 biji telur (grade A)-kalau kecil gunakan 5 biji
4 sudu makan (bumbung) tepung gandum
1 sudu teh tepung jagung
200 gm gula
garam secukup rasa.
1/2 sudu teh vanilli
sedikit pewarna merah jambu
Gaul semua bahan-bahan dan masak sebentar di atas api yg kecil sehingga naik wap sket.

Anda boleh gunakan loyang berukuran 30cm-32cm. Berapa byk jadinya kuih tu tergantung saiz yg anda potong ya.

I baked a banana cake for 55mins in 180 deg cel... and it turned out well... but do i really have to let it cool very well inorder to turn in over. Becoz mine crumbled ... as i didnt let it cool at all. Tks.
I normally let my cake cool down for at least 10-15 mins before removing it from the mould. Better still let it cool down totally before you turn it over.

If a cake recipe said to use flour w/o mentioning any particular type... is it ok to use cake flour?

I baked a cake marble susu... for 60 mins in 180 deg cel ... but after cooling the cake sunk in the middle and only the edges were baked but not the centre. Pls advise.

yes, you may use cake flour. It's better than plain flour.

It could be that the cake mould is not placed in the oven at the right level- probably too low or high. Or the mould size is incorrect as in too small. There are many factors contributing to why the cake is not cooked in the middle ya.

Terima kasih anonymous, for your encouraging words. Saya mmg gemar experiment dgn warna. Kata orang kalau tak cuba tak tahu. Jika hasilnya kurang baik, next time kita perbaiki lagi.
Anyway, Secara umum, setiap orang mempunyai pendapat dan pandangan yg berbeza-beza. Kita harus akur bahawa apa yg kita suka mungkin orang lain tak suka atau sebaliknya. Bak kata pepatah Inggeris " a man's meat is another man's poison" Tak salah menyuarakan pendapat asalkan ia dilakukan dgn cara yg berhemah dan sopan.
Buat mereka yg tak suka dgn paparan yg ada di blog ni, mungkin ada lagi blog2 lain yg lebih baik yg anda nak kunjungi. Silakan. Cuma kekadang tu teringat saya akan pepatah Inggeris yg berbunyi "Empty vessels make the most noise"
