Roti John

Today, lunch lewat siket, and yup, no rice dishes for us. I roped in my 2 daughters to help me whipped up the ever famous Roti John but without the mandatory french bread. All of us luv the egg/meat spread over hotdog buns... hehe.. less bread to chew. And literally speaking this Roti John will almost quickly dissapear into your stomach. I'm sure most of us know how to prepare it but for those who don't, why not try this simple yet filling Roti John.
























Roti John
8 keping roti hotdog (belah dua, jgn putus & disapu majerin sedikit)
400 gm daging cincang (disangai dgn sedikit lada hitam/putih & garam hingga kering sedikit)
4 biji telur
3 biji bawang besar (potong dadu)
3 batang cili merah (hiris)
1 batang cili hijau (hiris)
garam secukup rasa
keju slices

Cara
Satukan daging, telur, bawang besar, cili dan garam lalu kacau rata2. Panaskan kuali leper dan bubuh sedikit minyak. Ambil satu roti yg telah dibelah dua dan sapukan bahan daging/telur ini ke atasnya. Tarukkan roti di kuali dan masaklah dgn api sederhana hingga masak. Kemudian bubuhkan keju slices di atas roti john tadi dan masukkan sebentar (abt 1 min) di dalam toaster oven hingga keju cair sedikit. Tangkupkan roti itu semula dan bolehlah dipotong sebelum dihidang.

Roti John ni selalunya orang buat guna sardine, version Rozzan guna daging pula ye..boleh try ni...hopefully the kids suka, senang sket, adalah satu lagi new menu for dinner.
p/s :Fyi, bukan hubby tak boleh replenish stock, tapi we are in Malawi, Africa at the moment dan dia tak ada pulak nak ke Malaysia buat masa ni...so tak dapatlah nak mengangkut ikan bilis dan cili kering tu.

Kat sini mama, kalau Roti John selalu guna roti perancis dibubuh telur & daging atau ayam. Kalau takde daging cincang, "corned beef" dlm tin tu pun boleh, sedap.. Ish Ish Ish, kita ni selalu take things fr granted, kalau kat Msia/Spore ni tak problemlah nak dpt stock ikan bilis/cili kering tu kan?
