Haa... I tried experimenting with colours on my kek lapis...This time my Lapis Prune recipe became my guinea pig. I used to leave the cake with its natural colour but what the heck....let's try some bright colours! heheh. Also, since the experimenting time is very late at night (abt 11pm on Friday) ...pardon me for the 'not-so straight' layers. Well it was also due to the prunes and the chocolate which I had added on to spice up the flavour... Any suggestions for a new name plse?
mmmm.... look and grenti delicious kek lapis... I call it the Magical Rainbow layered cake...

ReplyDeleteActuallykan mamafami, mmg 1st impression counts tapi skarang nie banyak yg "plastic". hehe. kalau rupa cantik rasa takde, hampeh...Justru kalau rupa x cantik pun, mesti kena rasa dulu, bak kata org "jgn pandang pada rupa jer, hati pun mahu baik gak".
ReplyDeleteAunidayini, saya plak, kek lapis mmg minat saya tapi...pasal kek gulung, bak kejadian 20 thn dahulu (or shld I say 'ketidak-jadian'), saya mcm gave up nak buat kek gulung. Dahlah keluar belanja yg agak tinggi (masa tu baru je start kerja, paham2 ler!) kek gulung pun x menjadi, sigh....terus mcm berbadi, malas nak cuba.. (btw, ada sesaper ke out there bleh ajar saya kot camner nak memastikan kek gulung saya menjadi?)
ReplyDeleteKakmon, lainkali kakmon tambah ler make-up kek lapis kakmon tu tebal sket mcm "pelakon opera Cina". berseri sket.heheh. Kalau lepas beranak, mmg ler pucat lesi..belum abis pantang pun!
ReplyDeleteA collegue of mine taught me a very simple recipe... I tried and menjadi..its nothing like nina suria kek gulung... the only thing that you probably want to do is to experiment with different colours, perasa as well as the inti inside it. I've tried nutella, durian cream etc.... btw here's the recipe
ReplyDelete1 optima flour ( yang cake mix tu)
12 eggs
1 senduk nasi, butter
1 tbsp ovalette.
mix everything ...can make 12 kek gulung
for me I divide the recipe to 4 potion... sekali buat I used 250g optima flour.. ok lah ... menjadi.. kalau masa gulung tu mcm nak pecah. teruskan gulung dan bungkus ketat using aluminium foil on the outside dan simpan kat freezer. sudah tu baru potong. good luck

ReplyDeleteKek gulung mmg abit susah and leceh nak buat. Requires skill but if you can do nice Kek Lapis, gerenti no prob! Hehe..
Tips utk kek gulung, kena cepat² gulung. I've got a simple swiss roll recipe (but gotta dig it out and will pass to u to try). Modal tk byk so kalau masih tak menjadi, at least hati tak sakit. But rest assured, I tried this recipe dah byk kali time sekolah dulu.. selalu menjadi. Nanti kan saja ya the recipe..

Modal tak banyak sebab kalau banyak, SAH mama TAK BUAT...hehehe..dasar kedekut or maybe..berjimat..chewah, nak cover gak tu! ReplyDeleteThanks mamafami, I take note of it. Actually, I'm now trying to learn the finer aspects of baking roll cakes. As I had said earlier, my 1st try was more than 2o years ago and the experience was...sigh..dissapointing! Some recipes call fr quick rolling of the cake upon baking, some said wait till the cake cooled dowm completely b4 rolling. Now which is correct eh?? At the moment I'm still scrutinising all the roll cakes'recipes....but not trying as yet..
